What it is:
Tri Aerogel Styling Spray is an amazing new type of hair spray that is great for all hair types, especially for people with fine hair or sensitive scalps.

What it does:
Tri Aerogel contains a gel base, but is in an aerosol can and it sprays out a fine mist and works as a root lifter, fixative, and gel spray all at the same time!

What else you need to know:
Tri Aerogel leaves the hair with a great hold, but workable and brush-able and is great for fine hair and can now be held in place, but Tri Aerogel will not hold it down.

SD Alcohol 40, Hydrofluorocarbon 152a, Octylacrylamide/Acrylates/Butylaminoethyl/Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Triethyl Citrate, Phenyl Trimethicone, PEG-12 Dimethicone Propylene Glycol, Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, Fragrance.,
For all-over hold, shake well, hold 8-12 inches from your head and mist onto finished style. For added volume, lift sections and direct spray at root area.

LOVE IT
I have been using this product through my hair salon for years. Have run out a few times and used over the counter brands. Never realized how great Aerogel is until having to substitute. Hope they never stop making it! The VERY BEST!!!

Best Hold Ever
I have been using this product for over 10 years. It provides excellent hold but is not stiff and sticky. My hairdresser showed me how to lift the hair and spray under to retain volume and not flatten the style. Another great feature is that you can moisten your fingertips and use them to reactivate it later or after sleeping on your style. You get a fresh style without any stickiness. I am guessing that has to do with the "gel" feature. I recommended it to friends and one who tried it is a lifer like me :) The long lasting hold is great. I was paying much more buying it through the salon as I couldn't find it anywhere until I found it on another site and thought I was doing good....until I found Sleekhair. I get the downright lowest price now, particularly when I use a coupon code. My stylist told me that my price is almost better than hers. If you try this, I promise that you won't use any other spray. I don't even like to refer to it as hair spray as it's such a notch above a simple hair spray.
ProsLong lasting hold Refreshes wonderfully Adds volume Lightweight Not sticky

Has anyone using this product developed hives? I have been using this spray for a couple of years, I love it. I have very fine hair and it holds it in place. I have been through every test and multiple doctors and I now find out that my daughter who also uses this product his getting hives. We have tried to compare what products we are both using but we live 400 miles apart and only two items have come up - Aerogel Hairspray and Biolage Hydrating shampoo. Anyone?????
I have been using Aerogel for over 10 years. Have very fine hair and it is the only spray that does the job for me. Never had hives or any other reactions to it.

I have been using Aerogel Hairspray for about 5 years and have never had any kind of breakout, not hives for anything else. My hairdresser uses it all the time on her customers and I have never heard her say anything bad about it. I have never tried the Biolage Hydrating shampoo so cannot commit on it.

I have used Aerogel hairspray since the mid 90's and have never had a problem with hives. I, too, have fine hair and I also live in south Texas which means very high humidity. This hairspray is tops. I've never used Biolage Hydrating shampoo, but the hairspray has never caused any kind of side effect.

I also have fine hair, and I've been using this product for a couple of years and really like it. I have never developed hives from it. It may be significant to note that I sometimes also have a negative reaction to certain skin and hair products. Though not hives exactly, some products cause an itchy, burning sensation on my skin to the point that I have to rinse them off immediately. Again, that has not been an issue with Tri Aerogel Styling Spray. Good luck. I hope you figure it out and I also hope the problem isn't this product.

I have used this product since the late 90's and never had hives. I think they changed something in the formula because the back of the can has sticker with revised ingredients but don't know what the change is I'm sure the company can tell you what they added or removed.

I have not developed hives with this product, however I don't use it daily-or very often at all- because it dries out my hair. I used Biolage Hydrating Shampoo this morning and did not have any issues with that either, aside from it making my hair feel very stripped. Do you both get hives every time you use it? You might try keeping a journal of products that you use, and possibly things that you're eating. The only times I've developed hives have been from allergic reactions to food.

I have been using this product for at least 10 years. I have rosacea and very sensitive skin. I have not had hives or any reaction to this product. I also have fine hair and was turned on to the product by a close friend. It's wonderful. I would doubt this product would be the cause of your hives. My guess would be it's a food.

Sorry about the hives. There are plenty of things that can give you hives. It seems unlikely that a product you've used for years would now be doing that. I too use Aerogel. I've used it for about three years and its not easy to find. I haven't noticed any change of the formula. Have you tried to spray a small place on your arm, then wait for the hives? Any change in vitamins, medications or foods? I wish you luck finding the culprit. Many times its like finding a needle in the haystack.

The way to figure the problem out is to stop all products for 1-2 weeks then resume one product. if nothing happens stop first product and use second one. If nothing happens use both again and see if its the combo. Also when and where do the hives appear? probably have nothing to do with the hairspray unless its on your neck. And to the mother if you don't get hives why should her symptoms affect what you are using. one thing has nothing to do with the other. Has she seen a Dermatologist to scope out other causes?

Speaking as a person with allergies galore I have never had any issue with this product I would not trade it for $1 million Dollars. I know many times companies will change their formula and I've had an allergic reaction to product that I've always been fine with. I am currently using try aerogel and am not having any allergic reaction. It can be something as simple as a laundry detergent. Are each of you experiencing hives all over your body or only on your head ? If it is all over your body I would think it's a lotion a detergent is so something it's actually getting used all over the body or something you are consuming.

I have used this product for many years and now my family is also using it and we have never had any trouble at all. I have the same kind of hair and have never found any hairspray that works like this one does. I would bet it's more likely the shampoo causing the problem.

I've not heard of anyone developing hives by using the product. I started using this product because of my hairdresser and this is the only spray she uses. I asked her the same question and to her knowledge, no one has ever developed hives from using this spray. Try not using the spray for a week and and see what happens. If she still has hives, stop using the shampoo and see what happens. It might be one or other and in some cases it might be the combination of the two together causing the reaction.

I have used Aerogel hair spray for many years and have never had any problems, so I'm sorry to hear that you and your daughter believe this product may be causing hives. I have many friends and family who also use Aerogel hair spray and they have not had a problem. While I am not a doctor, you may want to consider eliminating the shampoo first to see what happens and then the hair spray as a last resort. I am a true believer in Aerogel hair spray and would only change to another product (as I stated before) as a last resort! I hope you and your daughter are able to get the hives under control without giving up Aerogel hair spray. Good luck to you both!!!

You can enter your zip code into Salon Seeker (follow the link below or copy and paste the link into your browser) to find local salons that carry Tri products such as Tri Aerogel Styling Spray http://www.salonseeker.com/Brand-Tri%20Professional%20Haircare.html I absolutely love Tri Aerogel! I don't know of a local salon that sell the Tri line so I order online. I have been using Aero gel for years and it is hands down the best holding/styling spray ever. It has a strong hold without feeling stiff-hair does not look plastered with clear coat. It's easy to brush thru once on the hair and is easy to re-style with heat activation. Do not put on wet hair, it becomes too stiff.

Is this product gluten free?
I'm not very familiar with gluten-free products, and I don't see anything on the can directly indicating whether it is or is not gluten-free. In terms of the product's effectiveness, I have used it for 16 years and will not use anything else. Being a guy with short to medium-length, fine hair, it works great for styling and has excellent hold. I've attached a photo of the ingredients list on the product's label... hopefully this will assist in answering your question.

Ti Aerogel is gluten free! To top it off, it has a flexible, strong hold, natural movement, and humidity resistant formula. You’ll achieve instant extremes of dramatic perplexity and debonair charisma. I have been using Tri Aerogel for years and have found nothing that even comes close to it. Tri Aerogel Styling Spray is an amazing hair spray that is great for all hair types, especially for people with fine hair or sensitive scalps. That would be me!!! Tri Aerogel contains a gel base, but is in an aerosol can. Tri Aerogel sprays out a fine mist and works as a root lifter, fixative, and gel spray all at the same time! Tri Aerogel Styling Hair Spray gives great hold for humidity and does not leave the hair feeling stiff. It leaves the hair with a great hold, but workable and brushable. Fine hair can now be held in place, but Tri Aerogel will not hold it down. Give Tri Aerogel a try and see what everyone is talking about with this hairspray. I will NOT use anything but Tri Aerogel!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

I have a feeling the manufacturer would be the best resource to identify if this product is gluten free. If it were me, I would try that avenue to determine product ingredients. As far as this product being a suppierior Styling / Harispray, it works better than any other hairspray I have ever tried. My hair is extremely sensitive to humidity and it holds my hair in place amazingly well. I always keep a supply on-hand to ensure I don't run out.

Hi ... Tri Aerogel Styling Spray is my favorite hairspray. I first thought this question was not relative to hairspray, but looked up the definition to find the following description: "Gluten (from Latin gluten, "glue") is a protein composite found in foods processed from wheat and related grain species, including barley and rye. It gives elasticity to dough, helping it to rise and to keep its shape, and often gives the final product a chewy texture. Gluten may also be found in some cosmetics or dermatological preparations.[1]" I guess I learned something (thank you), but I guess I don't think it is relevant if it was in the Tri Aeorgel products, as I would not think it would affect internal problems you might experience with foods. I recommend this product.

I have no idea if it is gluten free - I'm confused why that matters for a hair product. If you aren't eating it then, it's amazing if you like something that holds really naturally without buildup, it's like you aren't even wearing any product.

I am not sure if the product is Gluten Free, but the product was introduced to me by my hairdresser and I have fallen i love with it. The product is not some cheap sticky spray and you just associate the cost with the product itself and really don't care if it's more than the other brands, it's worth it to me to have a little more put out for the spray, when it lasts longer because you aren't using as much. I can only assume you've tried Customer Service on the gluten free question, sorry I couldn't be any further help.

Don't know if it was the same, but I've been using Aerogel for years. A little helps you style your hair, plus it holds well, and what I like best is there is very little fragrance. I have a difficult time with fragrances.

I have been using this product for years. I love it because it's one of the lighter sprays so it doesn't get sticky. I have very fine hair but if after I spray it I give it a few seconds to settle I can then take my fingers and style my hair, give it the lift that it needs so desperately. I have yet to find a spray that lasts all day and works better for my hair.

This product has been a "must have' hairspray for me and I have been using it for at least 6 years. You can easily style your hair and it will mold & hold to whatever style that you are creating. My answer to this question: It could very well be Tri Aerogel. When I do my own hair, after drying it I spray it lightly and then start styling with my fingers to get what I want and then spray lightly one more time. This hair spray is phenominal and I refuse to use any other. That is a fact. I will swear on it.

This is an awesome product to use in this manner. I was introduced to this spray in a high end salon for this reason. It had a delayed set time that offers the ability to finger style it. It works well and holds the style. I have short hair and it works great for this reason.

Yes this is hairspray. It's a GREAT product because it is not stickey and you can use your fingers , comb, etc to make any adjustments then spray again and it will stay in place all day. Half your hair doesn't come out when you brush it. This is the only spray I've used for about 8 years, it doesn't have a strong odor and works very well on finer hair.

I'm not sure if this is the same product you saw on tv, but it will be similar to that one. I use this and I have a hair style that is flipped out in the back and the rest has volume added to it all because of Aerogel. I have extremely flat hair w/o anything in it. This is the only prduct that I've found that I can have the hold for the entire day, but you have to be careful not to add too much or your hair will get crispy! haha

Well, I don;t know if it was or not but it very well could have been. In my experience, this is the best haispray in the world. My hair is very fine, therefore lacks body, but with my Aerogel I have gorgeous hair and yes! you can use your fingers to style. Another remarkable thing is that hair seems to have "memory" afterwards. The answer to the question is I don't know but it should have been. Thanks, Lana

I've used this product for 8 years and never saw this on any infomercial. This product is to be applied to DRY hair and it's a great styling tool for those hard to hold hairstyles. I have very thick, straight hair - and this is the only product that holds my "spikey" style in the back of my head. It does tend to be a bit heavy and sticky, so don't overdo it when applying this product. - Hope this helps ...

I have actually never seen this hairspray advertised on an infomercial or shopping network. I have used this hairspray for about 10 years. I was introduced to it by my hairstylist in Houston/SugarLand. I have fine hair and this has been a good product for me. It does not make my hair stiff and it is still "style-able" after spraying.

Has anybody used both Tri Aerogel and Kenra Volume Spray? Which is better? Sleekhair has great reviews for both! I need a strong hairspray that isn't too sticky or bad smelling.
I have never used the Kenra product, but I'm a big fan of the Tri Aerogel. I have very fine hair so I require a very strong hairspray in order to keep the hold. It doesn't smell great but isn't offensive either. But it is very sticky and should only be used as a finishing spray. It's too sticky for a styling spray. It's the only hairspray I use and have used it for years

I have tried both. I like Tri Aerogel because it does have good quick hold, but it's so easy to get sticky hair if you use even a little too much. But... it has absolutely no humidity protection. I went out on a humid night and my hair literally felt wet for hours, that stuff seems to suck up humidity. Kenra doesn't do that. I can walk outside in a mist and get through just fine without my hair being completely ruined. The humidity thing is why I stopped using Tri Aerogel. I thought it worked well, but only in very dry and arid atmospheres. I hope that helps!
