I didn't like this product at first, but it slowly became my favorite leave-in of all time. Revitalizes, nourishes, and protects hair. My hair always looks and feels nice when I use this. Highly recommend.

totally in love with this product
I was recommended to use this at a Jcpennys salon. It has to be the best thing I've ever put in my hair as a leave in. My hair is super thick so it is great for super thick hair, trust me I know.

do you have to blow dry your hair after putting this product in? my daughter does not blow dry her hair, lets it dry naturally.
I usually put it on my hair when it is wet and waiting, I'm not using blow dryer. My hair fine and colored. I like this product, but more like version with keratin.

This product can not protect your hair on high heat (flat iron). You'll need a special protector for that, not multi-purpose spray like that.

Well I personally only used it on wet hair, but I will say this it is a thick product. I honestly do not know if it would be good to put on dry hair. If I did use it on dry hair I would not put it on the roots because it would probably make it look oily.

Sure, why not? I've used it fresh out of the shower and let it sit for a while; I've used it just before blow-drying and, either way, it always makes my hair look and feel fantastic. You certainly won't hurt your hair, so give it a try.

Yes this product worked very well for me on dry hair. I used It's a 10 Ten on '2nd day' hair - spritzed it lightly on my dry hair and then used a curling iron to 're-set' the style. I am very surprised and happy with the results! I do not use hair spray on my hair - and this product truly keeps the curl & fuzz from taking control. It's a 10 keeps my hair soft and manageable - and I was surprised how well it performed on dry hair!

I have very curly frizzy hair and so I Usually I wet my hair daily and comb through product. Yesterday I French braided my hair so after sleeping on it my hair wasn't quite as wild. I rebraided this morning and then thought about your question. Since I still had frizz around my head I pumped a bit of "it's a 10.." Into my hand and added a small bit of water so it was more liquid - then smoothed the mixture around my head. Seems to certainly work for that wild frizz!

In my experience, I have fine hair but also very frizzy, and when I tried this my hair became very heavy and weighed down. Now I have a problem with over using products, so this could have been the reason for my own dilemma. I have now started to just lightly spray my hair and this has allowed the product to work better in my hair. I would say that if you do this take it easy on the product and lightly apply to the ends or where the frizz is. From what I learned from hair stylist, frizz is caused by lack of moisture, so I would say definitely try it. Good luck!

Hi, Since this specific conditioner is for damp hair I wouldn't. It most likely will not cause any problems but why take the chance? In my experience, if my hair is still frizzy in the morning, it has been because I didn't use enough of the product before drying. I would suggest using more while your hair is wet. That should do the trick.

I am not likely to apply leave on conditioners when hair is dry because they worsen the frizz, and my hair is really really frizzy, however It's a 10 Ten works good and I can apply to dry hair. Adelina

I've only ever applied it to damp or half dry hair. I've rather fine hair, so I imagine it might help some, but might also pull down my hair, not giving it any body...It might be worth a shot on a day when it is rainy or highly humid ;)

    Is this product sulfate free?
No sulfates are listed on the ingredients label. Most sulfates in hair products are in the shampoos (e.g. sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate). I've been using this product for a few years and it's wonderful. Very nourishing without weighing the hair down, and protects from heat styling.

It doesn't list sulfate as one of the ingredients. Plus it's not a shampoo, but a leave in conditioner. I've been using it for many years as a detangler and leave in conditioner and I'm very happy with the results. I can't brush my hair without it.

Hi Hair so Lifeless, I have color treated hair which gets touched up at the roots every three weeks. The ends get pretty dry since I blow out the front and curl with a round brush. I don't like to use heavy conditioner all over my hair since it weighs it down. So I apply It's a 10 to the ends only after towel drying my hair, I then blow dry and curl. The ends are shiny and the curl bounces, it works great. I love it and have had lots of comments on how shiny my hair looks. A little goes a long way. Give it a try, you'll love it!

I have the same issues you describe. I've been using this product for years and I love it. It definitely helps with dryness. I have dry, color-treated, curly hair so I get better results when I air dry. I'm also 50+. I use this on both wet and dry hair. I do blow dry my bangs a bit but I get less frizzies when I air dry. I also recently started using It's a 10 Hair Mask which helps even more. And the smell is wonderful! I hope this helps!

I have bought several bottles of the 4 oz and the larger 10 oz. The consistency is thick in the bottle. On a new bottle it takes several sprays to come out.. As you use the product the consistency does seem to get thinner. Try shaking the product to mix it up. Good Luck.

The consistency of this product is somewhat thick, however you should be able to spray it thru the bottle. I would try rinsing out the spray part of the bottle. I have used this product for years and I am very happy with the way it conditions my hair. I have long blond hair that is highly colored with bleach foils every 7 weeks and this product does a wonderful job on keeping my hair from being dried out. I just spray an even amount all over the hair after each wash(you do not need alot of this product). Then I brush it out and blow dry straight. Hope this helps:)

I would say the consistency of mine is thicker than oil; thicker than most products I use. It sort of reminds me of Crisco but not that solid. Mine does come out of the pump fine, so potentially a pump issue on yours? I do use as the instructions suggest and love the results.

Its a consistency of conditioner, so i would say on the thicker side. I've used for several years and have never had a problem with it spraying out. I am not sure about that. However, i think when I mix product lines, such as this with Brocato hair spray,my hair does flake, but I am not surenifnit alcohol based hair spray or what, for the flaking since it does not happen all the time. Oddly, the dampness of my hair when any product is applied seems related.

I am using this product for many years and it is excellent, However, recently I bought I large bottle of it and the pump is not working properly. I brought it back to the store and she tried it and said it was fine. When I brought it home it worked and then it is not working properly again. I have never has this problem before. I would have appreciated it if they would have replaced the pump.(when I press on it the product clumps up as if it is too thick. Would it be possible for me to replace the pump since the beauty salon I bought was of no help at all. Thank you very much.

I also have this problem with my bottle. I have noticed that if it gets cold it will not spray at all. I'm not sure if that is the problem or if it is just the pump. We did put the solution in a different spray bottle and still had the same problem. Sorry I couldn't help!

I too am happy with the product, but the last bottle that I got through Sleek Hair was in terrible condition. I would have never ordered from this company again if this had been my first purchase. Not only did the bottle look used and beat up, the pump does not work properly. It did initially clump up but a thorough and vigorous shaking of the bottle seemed to help. However, the pump still oozes at the seam whenever it is pressed so that the product gets all over the pump, the bottle, and my hands. And, I agree with you that a little customer service from the company where you purchased the product would have been a good idea.

I've never had a problem with the pump. Why not buy another bottle and use the new pump for both. Since you've been using it for years you know you will eventually use up both. Good Luck :)

I do not have this problem. But if you have, you can put the product into another bottle with dosage system

You can put it in another bottle (empty).

Stupid question - the directions say to spray it on towel dried hair but I let my hair dry before bed & then flat iron it in the morning... this will still work as a thermal protector, right?
Yes, my hairdresser sprays just a little on my hair when it starts to get dry, just a little though.

Yes! I normally spray it on my hair after I shower but then will reuse it when my hair is dry if I feel it is looking like it needs some extra moisture or just to prime it before styling.

It should still work. I found the product to be ineffective for me, as it takes my hair long enough to dry I didn't need the extra wet product on my hair. I prefer to use a serum such as Moroccan Oil.

You will probably get the benefin of thermal protection but the product is meant to be used on damp hair. You may get less than satisfactory results spraying the product on dry hair. In your case I would suggest spraying 10 on you hair when it is wet before you go to bed and letting it dry as you usually do.

I have not tried it as such, but I do apply then my hair dries. Next day I curl but add hairspray before I use the iron. Now, I have just colored my hair, and use this product, and curl my hair when it is dry one day. I also curl it the next day and if I am lucky, after using dry shampoo curl another day. Curling my hair is like straight iron-my hair becomes straight but with curl and shape at the end. Whatever, my system is working. In only apply its 10 once. My hair is not damaged, but not soft and silky -never will be- but this product is wonderful for protection. Just not sure if it is good for protection the next day w/out hair spray on the hair then iron... hope that helps

Yes I believe it will still protect your hair. It coats your hair and you can feel it in the hair until you wash it again.

Yes, but make sure your hair is not coated with the product before you flat iron. Used best right before blowdrying.
